Hand out when giving presentations, teaching classes or for personal reference. Explore the basics of drought, and wildfire-- other Water 101 topics are soon to come. Learn how state entities manage drought and fire, ways in which folks across the state are conserving water or responding to drought, the forces of regrowth and destruction inherent in wildfire, and how you can get involved in fire mitigation work. The Water Speakers represent water experts and interested individuals across the state who are dedicated to educating others on the basics of Colorado water. 2013 Tours!

CFWE hosts tours of Colorado’s agriculture, river restoration and much more! Jump on the bus for an upcoming adventure and let us know if you have an idea for where to go. Sign up by clicking on the available registration links below.

May 10 and 16: Explore how waterways are managed, restored and protected on an Urban Waters Bike Tour in Denver.

May 30-31: Lower Colorado Basin Tour - Get a taste of Grand Valley water, agriculture and energy issues!

June 20-21: Upper Colorado Basin Tour - Gain understanding of the relationship between river health and transbasin diversions.

July 10-12: Platte River Tour - For the first time, the CFWE bus will cross state lines! Broaden your perspective on interstate water issues on the Platte Rivers system in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

On Friday May 3 The Colorado Foundation for Water Education held our 2013 President's Award Reception. Keynote speaker John Salazar, Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture, helped us

honor Jim Isgar, the recipient of CFWE's 2013 President's Award. The award pays tribute to those who demonstrate steadfast commitment to water resources education. We also bestowed our Emerging Leader Award upon Amy Beatie. Congratulations Jim and Amy!
